Roles: Lead Editor, Animation, Special Effects, Director’s Assistant
Client: RAILS
This short film was written for RAILS (Reach Across Illinois Libraries) to showcase the value libraries provide even in the age of the internet. Although we thought the idea was pretty out there, when we pitched the story to RAILS they loved the unique angle.
A whole team came together to script, build the set, and design the character of the Wizard of the World Wide Web (played by Nick Offerman).
After filming, the digital characters were designed by Jorge Morales. I served as Lead Editor, and in the process of assembling the final story we had to cut down the original script from about 8 minutes down to 2-and-a-half. There was also the matter of adding digital screens in post, animating the characters, and doing a lot of rotoscoping to bring the final piece together.
